I have a flipper zero, should work
Those things look cool!
It’s a nice offer but I don’t get to the space much to experiment. I just found an old NowTV box from my “why do you keep all that junk” stash… shame about the hardware, it’s not a bad spec but too locked down, however I can open the box and steal the IR receiver from it and plug it to the M5 stack
Just note that you can do a lot with an arduino and an IR emitter/receiver, and its cheaper than a phone.
And we actually have generic IR receiver modules in the ‘sensors’ box at the space, and even some basic remotes that go with them.
I might see if I can “WFH” (Work From Hackspace) for the day tomorrow then I’ll have a little time to play. I noticed that the M5 Stack kit is relatively inexpensive and given it’s so easy to work with ESPHome+HomeAssistant, it’s a nice base for DIY home automation/hacking kit. There’s an out of the box IR receiver/transmitter. I can see myself using this stuff instead of overpriced Hue and rubbish Tuya kit (those TRVs are the bane of my life!).
Perhaps it’s possible to propose Revspace buys a selection of accessories for prototyping purposes? Is there a general use Flipper Zero? I can see that being extremely useful, and might be on my Christmas list after having a play with it!
So I picked up an IR receiver from revspace yesterday, I’ve been trying to get it to work. It’s plugged in as pictured, -, +5, GPIO25.
The receiver is constantly flashing and I’m getting “data” through the receiver log in ESP Web, so seems like some settings are not quite right anyone got any tips?
Hey does anyone know if the pins on this IR board are correct, someone suggested that Gnd is in the middle not the side…
I metered the board and it checked out ok
