I’m living in Dubai now and I’ve been trying to find people interested in starting a hackerspace here. Do you happen to know anyone in the region who might want to join the effort to get one off the ground?
Hey Andrey, I don’t know anyone in that region, but it’s good to hear from you and to see you still want to be surrounded by fellow hackers 
Hackerspaces.org doesn’t list anything in the wide region…but that would be the place to start, check if there is a page on the wiki of other people looking to build a space, or make a page to try and kickstart something. But it seems hackerspaces aren’t really a thing in the entire arab region.
I tried my best to find someone or something, but I came up empty.
The country is crawling with expats. Most people here are foreigners, and a ton of them come from Europe because of the zero-tax situation. That’s why I figured there had to be at least one other person looking for the same thing!
